Raiz Latina, a power packed 3-piece band
from
Havana, Cuba, makes International and Latin music as it
should be. They released their first album entitled "DE
TODO POCO" in 1998 under EGREM Recording Company and were
produced by Demetrio Muniz who is also the musical director of
the famous
"Buena Vista Social Club" of
Cuba.
Aside from the already energetic original Latin rhythms, the
group plays a variety of “International Music”.
Over the years, Raiz Latina has evolved and acquired an extensive
musical repertoire that adapts to any audience they perform to.
From the dynamic renditions of cha-cha, mambo, merengue, samba....
to the charming and smooth sounds of blues, ballads,swing bossanova,
R&B, fusion, international genres, indian tunes and more
will send anyone dancing and grooving on the floor.
"Raiz Latina" shows also its versatility and originality
by mixing Latin Music and Jazz Music into one exciting rhythm
called
"Latin Jazz”. The pianist, keyboardist and
vocalist Marianela demonstrates her virtuosity on each performance.
And for those who in a more romantic atmosphere prefer to listen
to instrumental music they can also count on “Raiz Latina”.
The band has had numerous interviews and performances on radio
and TV Programs in Cuba and abroad.
The group has traveled to 30 countries such us Italy, Spain,
Germany,Brazil, Portugal, Turkey, and UAE to name a few.
Their first Asian performance was at The Rembrandt Hotel's Senor
Pico Restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand.The band also graced the
stage of Le Meridien Hotel's La Nina Club, The Sundowner’s
Bar at the Imperial Queen's Park Hotel, The Satchmo Club at the
Sofitel Hotel Hua-Hin, The Marco Polo Steak and Jazz, The Grand
Pearl's Cruise Ship for the period of 2 years. And more recently
the band graced the stage of the Qba Club at The Cambodiana Hotel
in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, being the very first Cuban Band to ever
performed in Cambodia.
"RAIZ LATINA" stands to give only but the best of "Latin" and "International
Music".
