Jamie hails from the great state of Wisconsin – home
of cheese, snow, polka, and yes, da Pack! With a BA in International
Political Economics and an MS in Broadcast Journalism, Jamie’s
logical career endeavor was to travel the world playing piano!
The opportunity to follow her dream arrived as an emergency opening
for a keyboard player in a cruise ship show-band two weeks after
finishing her Masters.
Predominantly self-taught, Jamie was thrilled to be thrown
headfirst into her soul calling and through hard work and determination
she is living and loving her dream of playing music professionally.
Cruise ship travel wooed Jamie to play jazz and cabaret around
coastal South America, Dixieland music in the Med, and funky
fusion in the hippest cosmopolitan ports of Scandinavia. Her
land work includes playing in R&B, cover, and high-end
corporate bands from British Columbia to Boston and she will
be taking her art international in 2009.
Jamie also considers herself very blessed to be an instinctual
composer. And a life love affair with the music of Antonio
Carlos Jobim inspired Jamie to adopt Brazil's rich musical
influences into her works. She has made many journeys to this
magical land as a missionary, English teacher, and musician.
In the spring of 2007, her art brought her on scholarship
to Berklee College of Music in Boston where she, as a first-semester
student, accompanied the most prestigious concert of the scholastic
year- The Berklee Singer/Songwriter’s Showcase. Jamie
is currently at home in Wisconsin freelancing local piano lounges,
private parties, weddings, and festivals.
Jamie’s new album "Dark Honey" is available
for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody, CD Baby,
Lala and eMusic and is also debuting on radio stations in Portugual,
Spain, and Macedonia.
