MAURICE FOND -
pianobar entertainer
Maurice started playing the piano at age nine and learned playing mostly by inspiration from the '80s stars such as Bruce Hornsby and Billy Joel. Throughout High School, he played the keys in several bands and started to sing more and more.
Maurice has a wide playing experience which varies from theatershows, playing at silent movies and as a member of several Jazz and Pop Bands. Among them, he played with the Dutch well known presentator and singer Henk Westbroek.
In 2003 he performed with the Groove Troopers at the North Sea Jazz Festival and several of his own compositions were played.
Maurice performed in Egypt, Kenia, Curacao, South Africa, London and New York, and still performs all over Europe.
As a soloist, Maurice played at the Krasnapolsky Amsterdam, the Atlantic Hotel Kijkduin and the Hotels van Oranje Noordwijk.
Maurice's songlist ranges from: Bach to Bacharach, music from well known classical tunes to modern Pop Tunes. But also the great Jazz Standards from the 30's, Cole Portes, Rodgers en Hammerstein and many more are in his repertoire. His voice has a Stingy flavour, but some people say it sounds very much like Jamie Cullum.
He is a great performer and entertainer and always uses his sense of humor to bring in the right atmosphere! |
