iFor years, classically-trained pianist AL
SITAR has provided appealing and elegant musical ambiance's,
delighting audiences around the World. His six-year tenure aboard
cruise ships has polished both his musical skills and approaches
towards cultural diversity, at classy and professional levels.
AL SITAR, Canadian pianist vocalist, studied classical piano
privately from the age of nine, through the Royal Conservatory
of Music. He is fluent in English, French, and Croatian, and
in his native city of Montreal, AL worked very hard to achieve
a physics degree, simultaneously continuing his love for music
at the Concordia University jazz and composition programs,
and furthering his jazz piano studies privately with Jan Jarczyk
(Berklee School of Music) and Wray Downes (Oscar Peterson Advanced
School of Contemporary Music). If two Bachelor degrees (1992)
weren't enough, by 1995 he then finished a Master's degree
in Experimental Physics!
But soon enough while settling in
Toronto, his life would emerge upon a professional career in
music through composing, arranging, and performing, bringing
him a wealth of work. Another significant move found AL working
steadily for the prestigious five-star Princess Cruise Line for
six years.
AL loves to play and sing popular songs and standards
from any era, in solo acoustic piano settings, or with added
live upright bass and drums. His wide performing styles include:
Swing, Latin, Love Songs, Ballads, Elton John/Billy Joel, Beatles,
Latin, French, Country, Pop, Broadway, and requests are most
welcomed.
With an educated background, experience, and charm,
AL SITAR provides creative musical solutions to today’s piano-bar
entertainment demands anywhere World-wide.
